経歴

〈アーティスト歴〉

大阪府出身。ピアニスト・教育者・ファシリテーター。

小中高等学校と全ての校種にて教員経験を積んだのち、フリーランスに転向。歌曲伴奏や合唱指導、室内楽など、声楽との共演を中心としたアンサンブル演奏を得意とする。これまでに「第九」合唱団の稽古ピアニストを務め、フランス出身の指揮者ヤニック・パジェ氏との指揮合わせでは通訳としてもサポートし、音楽的意図を合唱団員に伝える役割を果たした。

学校教育では、日本語と英語によるバイリンガル・ミュージカルの演出・制作、NHK全国学校音楽コンクールをはじめとする合唱部の指導・指揮など、歌を軸にした実践を多く行ってきた。創作やストーリー性のある音楽づくりを取り入れた授業展開を得意とし、生徒主体の舞台づくりにも力を注いでいる。

地域社会とのつながりを大切にし、美術館や公民館、子育て支援センターなどでの音楽ワークショップの企画・実施、舞台づくりなどの表現活動の講座や、幼保園・福祉施設などへのアウトリーチコンサートを継続して行っている。音楽ワークショップは、大学在学中に定期的に受講したギルドホール音楽院「コネクト」プログラムの実践をもとに発展させてきたもので、即興・対話・身体表現を融合させたアプローチを試みている。

神戸女学院大学音楽学部器楽専攻ピアノ科卒業。現在は、大阪教育大学大学院教育学研究科・教育ファシリテーションコースに在籍し、アートと教育の交差点について研究中。2025年3月まで大阪芸術大学舞台芸術学科の伴奏ピアニストを務めた。

【英語力・国際経験】

現在、国際バカロレア（IB）認定校にて、PYP・DP両プログラムの音楽教育に携わっている。15歳でアメリカ・ペンシルバニア州に姉妹都市交換留学を経験。帰国後は市の帰国子女の会に所属し、その後、英会話スクールにて幼児〜高校生まで1万人以上に英語で音楽・表現を指導。多言語環境や外国籍教員との協働にも積極的に取り組んでいる。

Artist Biography – Maika Tsuji-Tomoda

Maika is a pianist, educator, and facilitator from Osaka, Japan. She specializes in collaborative piano, particularly in vocal music, with extensive experience in art song accompaniment, choral conducting, and ensemble work. She served as the rehearsal pianist for Beethoven’s Ode to Joy with a choir, and during the sessions with French conductor Yannick Paguet, Maika acted as a translator, facilitating communication between the conductor and choir members, offering musical advice. She has also accompanied numerous vocal recitals and competitions, and has conducted school choirs in national contests, including the NHK School Choir Contest.

Currently, Maika works as a music educator at an IB World School, teaching both the PYP and DP programs. Her international experience includes a sister-city exchange in Pennsylvania, USA, and full-time employment at an English conversation school where she taught over 10,000 students across all age ranges. She regularly collaborates with international staff and multilingual learners.

Maika holds a B.Mus. in Piano Performance from Kobe College and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Educational Facilitation at Osaka Kyoiku University. She previously worked as a staff pianist at Osaka University of Arts until March 2025.
